Our Story

Founded by childhood best friends, freetides is a celebration of female empowerment and our love of the ocean. We have always recognised the affinity between women and the ocean and the duality of their innate beauty and power. Our swimwear honours the depth of both.

Tired of choosing between flimsy, barely there bikinis or frumpy swimsuits, we set out to design long-lasting, feminine, wearable pieces that celebrate the beauty of the female form and leave you glowing with confidence, both in and out of the water.

Freetides believes in owning femininity and recognising the strength of our female bodies, embracing all the beautiful things that come to us so naturally. 

Respecting Mother Nature and nurturing our deep bond with the ocean inspires all that we do, so that our daughters and their daughters can swim in the same waters. We make our swimwear with REPREVE®, a high performance fibre made from recycled post-consumer and Ocean-Bound plastic bottles. Our poly-bags and mailers are also made from 100% certified Ocean-Bound Plastic*. 

We believe women supporting women is a force of nature, so we nurture a culture of sisterhood to empower positive change, not only changing the way we look at our own bodies but the way we look at each other’s. Our swimwear is made for women, by women, to liberate and celebrate the female form.
